Jonathan loyalists protest at APC HQ, demand his adoption as consensus candidate

Some supporters of former President Goodluck Jonathan today June 3rd besieged the All Progressives Congress (APC) headquarters to demand that the party adopts the former President as its consensus candidate.

Addressing reporters in front of the APC secretariat in Abuja, Umar Waja, speaking on behalf of the group, said Jonathan would steer the country to the “promised land” if elected president.

In April, the former President distanced himself from a Northern group that purchased the APC presidential form for him. He said the group did not consult him before purchasing the form. He was also not enlisted as one of the Presidential aspirants to appear before the party's screening committee. The former President not yet indicated any interest to run for President in 2023.. more gist coming.
